We are happy to announce that we are partnering up with Mission to Marsh for the next months as a new exclusive nature impact partner.Â
Who is Mission to Marsh?
Mission to Marsh is a German NGO that made it their whole mission to protect and restore wetlands at scale.
Behind this ambitious task are the leading wetland specialist, Ann-Christin Kornelsen, and marketing specialist, Alexander Kornelsen.Â
Why wetlands?
With our previous nature impact partner Wilderlands we protected and restored forests and grasslands.
We have chosen wetlands next because they hold immense super powers:
Biodiversity Hotspot – Wetlands are like VIP lounges for wildlife, home to rare insects, birds, and amphibians that struggle to survive anywhere else.
CO₂ Powerhouse – They store 4x more carbon than forests, making them one of our best weapons against climate change.
Nature’s Water Tank – Acting like giant sponges, wetlands soak up excess water to prevent floods and release it slowly to fight droughts.
The Planet’s Water Filter – Wetlands purify water by trapping excess nutrients and toxins, keeping our rivers, lakes, and groundwater clean and healthy.
Despite their superpowers they are getting destroyed much faster than other ecosystems. Time to change this.
Why have we chosen Mission to Marsh to collaborate with?
The short answer they fullfilled all our criteria.
- they protect and restore an overlooked ecosystem
- they track their impact metrics (m2 protected & restored)
- they are science-drivenÂ
- they make nature accessible so people can reconnect
- they create powerful stories to give the wetland the attention they deserveÂ
- they constantly innovate to scale their impact (Moorathon)Â
- they are community-drivenÂ
- they are also a 1% for the Planet memberÂ
- they are based in Europe (after Australia we wanted to support a different geography)
How will the partnership concretely look like?
#1 Our 15% nature payment (we pay nature 15% of our revenue) will go to protecting and restoring real measurable m2 of wetlands.
#2 We are collaborating to bring biodiversity into businesses. In form of nature campaigns like the Moorathon; creating experiences for companies to restore nature as team events; helping companies to create the biggest impact for their donation $.
#3 We will create joint awareness campaigns about wetlands. So more companies & people will become aware of wetlands’ super powers.
#4 Host joined community activities like the Moorathon. To encourage community members to do sports and restore nature at the same time.
#5 We support the Mission to Marsh on their Movie Tour in Europe, to get more people excited about wetlands.
Our biggest ally against climate change is in a dire situation.
Time to bend the trend. Let’s get moor done!
